"Kirkerommet" (2 of 4)
Description
(en)The church hall is a simple rectangular space with an axial orientation toward the choir area in the south, and side windows in the gable wall motif facing Longyeardalen to the east. There is a separate entrance to the church hall, but it is rarely used. The ship's unpainted vertical paneling and the small-paned windows with colored glass create a soft transition from the adjacent lounge with a fireplace. More sacred in character is the hall's white-painted ceiling, with a slight barrel vault ending in a coffered flat surface. However, the vault is framed by painted panels and moldings that lower the ceiling height and create intimacy. Details such as door panels, window frames, and moldings are painted in rustic red and green.
