The settler's cabin is located on a farmyard with residential houses from several generations. The settlement is nicely situated on a small hill in the otherwise flat agricultural landscape of Bardujord. The Eggen farm is operated with various types of livestock and is an "Inn on the Farm" facility, meaning that school classes and other interested parties are received for various activities. Breeding of the old horse breed Nordlandshest/Lyngshest is also conducted here.
