Description
The first residential building constructed in wood materials was erected in 1890. Today's house was built in 1895. It is a small log house with a central corridor, with an entrance in the middle of the long side and a living room and chamber on each side of the entrance. There is a sleeping loft above, with a large room at each gable end. The house is built in log timber that is externally clad with standing ochre-painted wood boarding. The windows are of the Empire style with a center post and a frame on each side divided into three panes. The gable roof is covered with birch bark and turf.
At the gable end of the residence, there is a small garden fenced in with posts and long straight rails from the surrounding forest. In the garden, there are traditional rowan trees as well as rhubarb and hardy perennials like blueweed and tansy.
