Description

Kvitnesgården has a symmetrical ground plan with entrance area and kitchen in the middle and on either side a reception room with an adjacent smaller room at the back. The log building has horizontal wooden cladding on three sides and at the back an older style vertical wooden cladding. The cladding is now painted white all the way around the building, but previously the back had a cheaper red paint as was the tradition at North Norwegian trading posts. The sea-facing elevation which is the front facade, has a strict symmetrical composition around the main entrance typical of the empire-style.
