"Andenes fyrstasjon" (3 of 3)
Description
The keepers' cottage and the outbuilding are now in private ownership. The cottage was possibly designed by the German engineer who was in charge of assembling the lighthouse. The house has horizontal wooden cladding, empire-style windows and slates cover the steep roof. The dormer was most likely added around 1900.The cottage was occupied by the lighthouse keeper until 1947 and it was the childhood home of Richard With, the "father" of Hurtigruta.
