The main house is a large two storey building with a pitched roof that has moderate eaves and slates laid in diamond pattern. The log house has two different kinds of horizontal external wooden cladding: clapboard on the gable walls and shiplap on the others. The windows are the kind of empire-style windows used in large buildings, that is: crossmullioned windows with two panes in the lower casements and single panes at the top. The window surrounds have however a mix of styles: empire-style on the top and Swiss chalet style underneath.
