Description

Both the buildings and their positioning are good examples of vernacular architecture. Most of the cultivated land is surrounded by dry-stone walls. Ditches are lined with stones and culverts are also built in stone. Farming and fishing provided what was needed. Seen from a cultural and historical point of view Rørvik Gård demonstrates the essentials needed for survival in the coastal communities of Northern Norway.
