It is a large one and a half storey house which carries all the hallmarks of the Swiss Chalet style which was fashionable during the second half of the 19th century: high ground floor ceilings
projecting slate roofs
carved gable decorations
the glass porch and the cladding sectioned to indicate the intermediate floor.
