"Å i Lofoten" (5 of 7)
Description
Behind the big main building in the fishing village lies what remains of the old garden – on a raised terrace. The fishing station owner’s daughter Ingrid Ellingsen writes about her mother working in the garden: “Spring and summer she would work in the garden whenever possible. She sowed in hotbeds and planted out flowers and vegetables. She obtained plants and herbaceous perennials from the south: auricular were one of her favourite flowers. In the kitchen garden she planted cauliflowers, carrots, kohlrabi, turnips, salads, parsley, radishes, snap peas, green arrow peas and beetroot.”
