"Å i Lofoten" (3 of 7)
Description
Øvergården was built for Christen Peder Ellingsen during the first half of the 1870s as the main building of that time. It is built of cog-jointed timbers and clad externally with vertical panelling, painted white on the courtyard side and red at the rear. This long building on two storeys, with late empire details to the windows and surround, has a slate-tiled roof. There are a few latticed windows of an old type (rococo windows), which may have come from the older house that stood on this site. Øvergården is here to the right in the photograph, with the large main building to the left.
