The property rests on a strong concrete wall, clad with natural stone. This consists of cast sidewalls, with loose stacked stone in-between. The wall is covered with faceted natural stone, laid in a polygonal style and pointed. It is said that when the property was being built, J. M. Johansen ordered the stonemasons from Ålesund. The craftsmen who came to do the work were responsible for training the local workers in this special technique. This type of wall often goes by the name of an Ålesund wall.
