"Storjord – hotellet og skogvoktergården" (4 of 7)
Description
The hotel was built in 1923 and closed down during the early days of the Second World War coming to Norway in 1940. However, it is now once again a working hotel and one of the smaller Norwegian historic wooden hotels. Situated on the flats above the river the south-facing building has two storeys, a log construction, white horizontal external cladding and a pitched slate roof. The cross windows have four opening casements. In 2010 the Nordland branch of the Society for the Preservation of Ancient Norwegian Monuments (Fortidsminneforeningen) awarded the hotel its annual price for the best renovation project.
