Description

The cottage at Kjelvik has two rooms below and a bedroom on the loft storey. At one end there a portico that is not insulated, which is often the case with old residences in Nordland. The actual dwelling section is built of cogging jointed timber and sections of the outer walls are clad with vertical panelling. All of the structures on the site have sod covered roofs. The yard next to the cottage is covered with magnificent stone slabs - it must have taken great efforts to lay these stones.
