The old bridge that spans the Reisa River, by Storslett, was built at the end of the 19th century. It is characterised as a truss bridge of steel, with riveted overlying trusses. The intermediary bridge deck is made of wood, and the span of the bridge measures 63 metres. The abutment piers are built of natural hewn stone and there are stone embankments alongside the river.

Traffic on the bridge was significantly reduced by 1955, at this time a new bridge was constructed closer to the mouth of the river. Gradually over time, the old bridge became an important part of the shared pathway system.
