"Hytte på Hersøya" (3 of 7)
Description
A low sod wall is built up like a parapet on the lower part of the cottage and the roof is covered with sod. Sod is a material often associated with traditional Sámi architecture - such as the turf hut (gamme). The cottage is stained with greyish colours and has a modest relationship with the surroundings. Large north facing windows provide a magnificent view of the sea and let in natural light to the living room.
