Description

These buildings obtained their form after studies done on snow accumulation around the buildings and in the surrounding area. The buildings were constructed so that the prevailing winds rid any snow from the arrival side and collected on the ridge side of the building. Model experiments with semolina were conducted in order to find the most favourable solutions.

The buildings open up onto the south and southwest, and capture sun with glass façades and protected outdoor areas with dark, warmth absorbent expanses. These illustrations were taken from Byggekunst 4/1989, pp. 256-259.
