These sheds were used by the people living on the small farms in the valley (Kåfjorddalen) to store fishing equipment. The fishing gear was comprised of nets, line and other equipment that was used to fish with in the fjord or in Finnmark - and in the Lofoten Islands. Flour that they received from Russian traders during the summer was also stored here. It was kept here until wintertime, when it could be hauled up to the farm using sleds.
