Sør-Varanger Museum’s main exhibitions, shop and photo archive are to be found at the Grenselandssenteret today. There is also office space for the museum staff and local literature, souvenirs and gift items on sale in the shop. The museum’s popular café, which has a light interior with a slate-tiled floor, is used a great deal in connection with outside hire and cultural events. The administration is on the upper floor in the wall, with a view out over Førstevann and parts of the town. The administrative area is reached via its own entrance from the small courtyard and is centrally placed in relation to the other parts of the site, such as the documentation section, reception, etc. The small courtyard also provides access to the workshop section, as well as a goods area allowing delivery of larger objects for restoration, or directly into the exhibition area.
