Description

The chapel is constructed of cogging jointed timber, and some of the logs are marked. Wooden boards, laid in an over/underlying pattern, cover the roof. Both the entrance door and window have classicist style frames with gable-shaped pediments.

The building contractor is unknown, but the timber used came from the Sør-Varanger region. Dendrochronological tests indicate that the oldest logs in the chapel are roughly 200 years old. This suggests that the building may be partially renovated. Nevertheless this church community dates back to 1565. During the period from 1912 to 1965, the chapel was disused as an orthodox place of worship.
