It was an objective that the form of the bridge should correspond with the surroundings, cultivating Dolstad as an ecclesiastical and cultural centre. The bridge deck is an effective access road to the old church, which here one catches a glimpse of in the background. In terms of form, the bridge appears quite modern. Even thought it has a modern form, due to the use of woodwork and the positioning in the landscape, the bridge appears prudent above the old cultural monument.
