"Svolvær kirke" (2 of 5)
Description
The interior of the church has a simple design with minimal decorative elements. The white plastered walls have a unique rough texture
these along with the rounded arches comprise the main décor of the church. Both of these elements provide associations to Romanesque churches from the Middle Ages. The rounded arch form can be seen in the barrel vault of the nave, in the opening leading in to the choir and the apse, and on the upper window terminations. Elsewhere the interior of the church is comprised of simple wooden pews, and the pulpit which is situated to the left of the choir opening.
