Description

Johan Olsen's cowshed is the oldest cowshed at Veines, built at the end of the nineteenth century. It is made of Russian planking and the exterior is clad with double bead panelling. The cowshed has stalls, stabling for cows and a dovecote.

This is Hilmar Olsen's cowshed, which was built in 1918. The oldest part is made of Russian planking. Here there was room for cows, sheep and hens. In the cowshed passageway there was winter firewood, peat and coal. Spaces for a workshop, outside toilet, wood-fired bath, washhouse and drying loft were built subsequently.
