Description

One characteristic mark of townscapes in reconstructed towns are town centre streets flanked by either two- or three-storied rendered buildings with saddle roofs and simple detailing. The post office in Honningsvåg is a good example of such a building. At the same time, it is designed to accommodate for the site situation - it is situated on a corner where three streets meet. A nicely rounded façade makes the post office a lovely backdrop motif for the harbour - with its recessed main entrance, set of steps and the two rounded columns.
