"Bietilægården" (5 of 5)
Description
The large quay has a drying rack for fishing nets and a fishing net shed. This demonstrates the farms' dependence on the sea and fishing. The fishing net shed was originally a fishing hut in Kvamvika and was also moved to the Bietilæ farm in 1937. It has an inscription on the wall that remarks about a bad fishing season in 1878 - therefore we must assume that the building was in-use during this time. The drying rack is a single drying rack and does not have a roof.
