The Bietilæ farm is situated in Indrebyen or Inner Kvænby in Vadsø. This part of town was given this name because it was mainly built by Finnish immigrants in the 19th century. The farm complex represents a typical combined farm with agriculture and fishing, but it had a larger fishing complex than was common in Vadsø. Located along the edge of the sea, the complex lies at the west end of an older section of town, on the street Havnegata. In its entirety the complex is comprised of a dwelling house, three small barns, fishing net shed, quay, boat slip and slip house.

The first residents on the farm erected a cottage and a barn in the 1870s. Eventually there were several families living in the dwelling house simultaneously. As a consequence more barns were built, one for each family. Located to the east of the main building is a barn that was originally a fishing hut in Kvamvika, and was moved here in 1937.

In 1998 the complex was declared listed. Today it is a part of the Vadsø Museum/Ruija Kven Museum.
