Description

The buildings on the yard are adjoined in a U-form on the slope of the hill, around an open, north facing courtyard which inclines downwards to the inlet. Previously there was a wooden bridge running from the landing by the sea at a right angle around the courtyard, with a "port of call", a series of steps by the various buildings. This wooden bridge has now been replaced with roads on an enrockment. On both sides of the main building lie all of the buildings that belong to the yard buildings: house for servants, laundry, pressing room, house with an open fireplace, storehouse on pillars with sleeping loft. All of these structures were built in the 18th- and 19th century. The travelling merchant shed was also used by the fisherman as overnight lodging. These fishermen were on their way to and from Loftoen. This shed was once located here, but was town down in the 1920s.
