Description

The oldest part of the complex was designed by the architects Kr. Wilhelmsen and Amundsen. It is comprised of 5 joined wings that form a ring around the schoolyard. Today these are the premises for the secondary level classes. The wings are two-storied rectangular buildings with saddle roofs. All buildings, apart from one, have concrete/block walls that are pained in grey and light colours. They hold the classrooms along with the administration. The last wing is clad with vertical panelling that is painted red. This wing is the premise for the art, home economics and music classes. A swimming pool and the previous gymnasium are located on the rear side of the main buildings. In 1997, the sports hall that is located behind the school was opened and it is now used as a gymnasium. The old gymnasium was converted into locker rooms. The building's organisation and use of material are characteristic of 1950-60s architecture.
