An ugly spot appeared in the row between the workers' mess hall and the shop when the baths were pulled down in 1991. It was decided that the site should be used for a two-storey building with a gable roof, based on the building that had been pulled down. The A3 architectural practice, under civil architect Viggo Ditlevsen, chose in 2005 to build a new housing barracks of the same shape, size and roof angle as the other workers' barracks. The shape of the windows reflects the time when it was built and thus clearly distinguishes itself from the older housing barracks.
