Description

At Hjemmeluft/Jiepmaluokta there are more than 4000 carved figures on the rocks and they are estimated to be between 2000 and 7000 years old. The site is on UNESCO's World Heritage List and receives around 70,000 visitors a year. From 1987 to 1993 a network of trails was constructed to protect the carvings and the landscape. They are built with gently sloping ramps to allow access for all including those with reduced mobility and wheelchair users.
