The building consists of four linked main volumes. The entrance section contains a lobby with information counter, shop and cafeé. To its east is the largest volume, which houses the exhibitions and to its west is the lecture theatre. This kind of plan structure makes it easy to extend the building, and a new extension has been added to the west containing offices, workshops, a library and also a separate goods entrance.
