"Oppgangssag mm i Vikbekken" (5 of 7)
Description
This two-storey building, built of half-timbering and with wooden boards covering the roof, contains the grist-mill and power generator with a circular saw. Today, the site is driven by a Francis turbine with an output of 6 kW.
There was originally one grist-mill, built at the end of the 1920s. Later, a generator was installed that could yield an output of 11 kW. The power generator was intended for the three Vik farms that owned the fall rights to the stream. In the end, however, it was Viken Farm and Vikland Farm that linked up to the site, and an aggregate output of 6 kW was installed. In addition, a circular saw was set up on the outside of the building, and this was linked to the extension of the turbine shaft with pulleys.
