"Elvebakken" (3 of 5)
Description
The barn (10 x 5 metres) is a single-storey building, with a notched log cowshed at one end and a half-timbered haybarn at the other. In Troms such barns are generally known as lågfjøs (low barns). They usually have an entrance in the middle, whereas the barn at Elvebakken has its entrance at the gable end and through the hay room. There was a chimney-stack and fireplace, with a pot where the cattle-feed was cooked.
