The architects have both fitted in with and added to the environment. The gaps between the buildings allow space and dignity for the old and room for the new to flourish. The proportions, wooden cladding and roof line adapt to the neighbourhood whilst the large glazed areas and the metal profiles' industrial references clearly place the building in the second decade of the 21st century. As infill projects go, Strandgata 22 adapts to Tromsø's multifarious architectural landscape and introduces new and contemporary solutions as well.
