Like the original building, the extension also consists of cube shaped volumes and the new outer walls are enlivened by strong colours: the new porch is bright green and the canteen is a turquoise-blue. The canteen extension is placed on the diagonal of the main building which makes an overall much more dynamic architectural impression.

The turquoise-blue colour makes a sharp contrast to the pink walls of Breivang School right next door. However, the effect of the colours still makes the two schools appear as one unit even if they are completely independent of each other.
