Description

Crafts-bevegelse.
The most interesting houses in the lower part of Kirkegårdsveien are the brick buildings of numbers 12, 14 and 16. They were designed by the architect and "stadskonduktør" (a now historic post heading planning, surveying, planning permissions, building regulations etc) Peter Arnet Amundsen senior just after World War 1 and built by his brother the master bricklayer Theodor Amundsen. Like many of Amundsen's buildings these were also influenced by different styles, in particular classism and jugend (northern European art noveau), however numbers 12 and 14 also indicate inspiration from William Morris' arts &
crafts movement.
