"Straumsgården" (3 of 5)
Description
The inner buildings are all in a row. Here is the oldest living space furthest to the right in the photograph, then the new living space, the shed, the wood shack and the shack for drying sedge, where sedge grass for insulating footwear was stored, with a potato cellar underneath. A little way below this row of buildings is the storehouse, with a garden beside it. The storehouse is cog-jointed with timber, cross-notched at the corners. The oldest living space is also cog-jointed and clad with planks towards the sea, with a gallery of stanchion construction on the rear side.
