"Breivang videregående skole" (1 of 3)
Description
Breivang Upper Secondary School is situated on a east-facing slope just south of the university campus - with a magnificent view overlooking the Tromsø Sound and the mountain Tromsdalstinden. The building is positioned and designed to open onto the east and south, by means of large glass panes. The complex is comprised of three rectangular blocks which are partially notched into one another. The façades have dissimilar designs
this is carried out through a variety of different materials and colours. As a result, it provides a largely contoured, but at the same time, complex and opulent exterior expression. The façades are alternately clad with grey zinc sheeting, white tiles and dark slate - combined with large glass panes. The glass provides natural lightning to the interior, particularly into the inner hall that connects all the stories.
