Description

The crop garden is partially constructed after a pattern from ancient monastery gardens. It contains a wide selection of plants within major sections of medicinal plants, spices, poisonous plants, dye plants, aromatic plants, aphrodisiacs and plants linked to witchcraft from earlier centuries. Here one can also find plants used in salads, soups and teas, such as a wide selection of various mints and onions. Of special interest is a collection of wild growing herbs from Northern Norway, which are based on the research project "The use of plants in Northern Norwegian women's tradition."
