"Universitetet i Tromsø, Realfagsparsellen" (7 of 7)
Description
The Norwegian College of Fishery Science is a separate institution that is located above the Science District on campus. It was completed in 1995 and was designed by Steinsvik Arkitektkontor. It has a tall and slender form that is covered by a large all-encompassing saddle roof. The design of the roof's supportive steel construction provides the building with an expressive form. Located in the main lobby is the main adornment of the building. This adornment project was created by the artist Hagbart Solløs. The piece is comprised of multiple sculptural forms made of larvikite, a type of igneous rock found in Larvik.
