Sjøgata 16 (street address) was a merchant's residence and built in the Empire style. It is a two-storied building with horizontal panelling and a steep saddle roof. The façade is symmetric, centred on the entrance and has a nicely designed Empire portal. The two-winged entrance door has a lunette window above, and fluting pilasters with capitals located on the sides. The cross-post windows are typical for larger residences in the Empire style.
