"Nøkken - rekkehus" (1 of 4)
Description
These terrace houses are located on the west side of Tromsø Island, in a birch wooded forest near the largest outdoor area which extends lengthwise along the highest point of the island. From this area one can enjoy a grand view of the Sandnes Sound and of the island Kvaløya. In all there are 16 housing units, divided into two rows with seven and nine dwelling-units respectively in each. The terraces are situated in a north-south direction and are adapted for the terrain. Buildings in the surrounding area are primarily newer residencies.
The entrance is situated to the west facing the island Kvaløya. Near each entrance is a large terrace for every individual unit. The west facing façade has an open form of expression, as nearly the entire façade is a wall of glass.
