The new building was completed in 1989 and was designed by the architect Terje Jacobsen. It includes the arts and crafts area and gymnasium. This new section is detached from the old school building, but they are connected via an underground passageway. The building is covered in brick with copper mountings, for example around the windows. Although the new structure is visibly divorced from the older structure, the features from the 1950s keep the two intact.
