Straumen Chapel, set on a small hill surrounded by low rise housing and agricultural land, is situated south of the bridge crossing the river Straumen and half a kilometer away from Sørreisa village centre.

The chapel has a rectangular footprint, low side walls and a steep pitched roof. The adjoining parts of the building have flat roofs and contain offices, a parish hall and a lounge with open fireplace. There is a free standing bell tower to the east of the main entrance.

In 2014 the entrance was extended and a chancel added.
